This section prepares you for the North Carolina Medication Aide Examination for Nursing Homes.
Credentia will use a live proctor to monitor you through the examination process. The proctor will supervise the exam via a webcam on your workstation. A proctor is someone who oversees the examination.
What You Will Need:
- The Right Computer:
- A desktop, laptop, or Chromebook with a single monitor (no smartphones or tablets).
- A webcam must be available.
- A Private Room:
- Ensure you have access to a private room. If you don’t, check with your training program or local library for availability.
- A Mobile Device:
- The live proctor will ask you to complete a 360-degree room scan using a smartphone or tablet (Apple or Android).
- You are required to download the ExamRoom AI free app.
- Proper Identifications:
- Ensure you have your two forms of identification ready.
Before Examination Day:
- Perform a System Test:
- Make sure to do the required system test and examination simulation before exam day.

- Find Your Testing Space:
- Choose a quiet, distraction-free area in your home or office to take the examination.
- Get Your Proper Identifications Ready:
- Ensure both required forms of identification are on hand.
On Examination Day:
STEP 1: Prepare Your Testing Space
- Quiet: Ensure there is no background noise.
- Lighting: The proctors must be able to clearly see you and your testing space.
- Privacy: No one else should be in the room.
- Clear Workstation: Remove any prohibited items to expedite the room scan.
- Restroom/Beverages: Use the restroom and prepare any beverages before the examination.
STEP 2: Have Your Two (2) Forms of Identifications Ready
STEP 3: Prepare Your Computer
- Disconnect any additional monitors and close all other open applications.
- Have your chargers (laptop, smartphone, or tablet) plugged in or nearby.
- Use a wired internet connection rather than Wi-Fi, if possible.
- If using Wi-Fi, we recommend at least 3Mbps and ask that no one else in your household uses the internet during your examination.
- Disconnect any VPNs or firewalls if you have them.
STEP 4: Download the ExamRoom AI 360 App
- Download the ExamRoom AI 360 app on your smartphone or tablet. This app is required to complete the 360-degree room scan.
- Have your Credentia Platform login credentials available (username and password for your Credentia Platform account).
STEP 5: Check in for Your Examination
- You can check in up to 30 minutes before your scheduled examination time.
- Your onboarding agent will ensure everything is ready for your exam before introducing your live proctor (test supervisor).
How to Check In:

- Click the Login button.
- Once logged in, find your scheduled examination, and select the Start Exam button.

- If you arrive late or fail to attend your scheduled examination, you will be responsible for the full test fee..
