This handbook is for candidates seeking to be listed on the Medication Aide Registry for Nursing Homes.
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services has contracted with Credentia, a nationally recognized leading provider of assessment services to regulatory agencies, to administer, score, and report the results of the examination for the North Carolina Medication Aide Registry for Nursing Homes. Credentia also processes applications and schedules examinations.
Note: This examination does not qualify a candidate to work in an adult care facility.
The Nursing Home Medication Aide Examination
The examination is designed to meet the medication aide evaluation requirements in North Carolina state laws and regulations.
The purpose of the examination is to test that you understand and can safely perform the job of an entry-level medication aide in a nursing home.
